Spook Jacobs (Robert Forrest Vandergrift Jacobs) was born on November 4, 1925 in Cheswold, Delaware. He made his Major League debut on April 13, 1954 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1954, his rookie year, he hit .258 with 0 home runs and 26 RBI. Jacobs played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Kansas City Athletics and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 3 year career.
