Speedy Duncan (Leslie Herbert Duncan) was born on August 10, 1942 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. After going to high school at Druid (Tuscaloosa, AL), Duncan attended Jackson State University. Duncan made his professional debut in the AFL in 1964 with the San Diego Chargers. He played in the AFL for 6 years, playing for the San Diego Chargers the entire time. Duncan also played in the NFL for 5 years, playing for the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers over the course of his 5 year NFL career.

Most people believe that 1966 was Speedy Duncan's best year, as he picked off 7 passes, ran back a punt for a touchdown and had 642 kick return yards.
