Sonny Doell (Walter Atlee Doell) was born on December 8, 1906 in Mason, Texas. After going to high school at Mason (TX), Doell attended the University of Texas. Doell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1933 with the Cincinnati Reds. He played for the Cincinnati Reds for his entire 1 year career.
