Sometimes UCLA makes it too easy for a Trojan to snark on them...

UCLA set to reinstate first year assistant coach Eric Scott this week. Charges in the attempted burglary have not been formally filed against the beleaguered former Bruin receiver and so he’s getting his job back. What, so easily? Well, reportedly two days of intensive meetings with the coaching staff and other athletic department personnel took place as Scott left one tiny teeny inconsequential fact off his resume.
His Criminal Record.
USC may be the school residing in the ‘hood, but UCLA is the one hiring ‘hoods to coach their football team apparently.
Scott has 2 misdemeanor counts of carrying a concealed weapon on his record. One in 1996 and one in 2005. He also has a misdemeanor disturbing the peace charge from 2002 on his rap sheet.
The UCLA Athletic department was unaware of Scott’s record when they hired him. Say What?! Have the brainiacs in Westwood never heard of USSearch.com or any of the other tons of background checking services available on Al Gore’s Interwebs? For $14.95 they’d have been able to find out that in addition to the seven years assistant coaching at Los Angeles’s Crenshaw High, that Mr. Scott had a proclivity for carrying a piece. A concealed piece.
But you know, when you are battling a bigger, better, high powered national championship contending program across town, I guess you take what you can get, coaches and players. *
- this was all intended in sarcastic humor people, I’m not really hating on the bruins THAT much. heh heh heh In all truth I wish Eric Scott and the UCLA staff the best of luck in dealing with and resolving this issue. Let the above article stand as a piece of Trojan sarcasm.
-Your Gridiron Goddess, now with more snark
