Someone cut Barry Bonds some slack

by user Bigmac

I'm so tired of hearing everyone complain about Barry Bonds. I mean come on! I'm 25 and have no problem admitting he is the best player of my era. As a person, yeah, he seems to be a prick. But if you just hit 716 hrs and the first thing a sniveling litte reporter asked you was (so what about the steroid allegations)you would be a little angry too, and not want to talk to them either. Nothing's been proven. Is this the country where innocent until proven guilty? Is the way we work or am I confused?

Bottom line - its time to jump off his back and finally give him a pat on the back.

Mike Scmidth was the best player of your time, not Barry Bonds.

Schmidt is nowhere even close to Bonds. And he played a little bit before our time. His prime years came when I was just a baby and even during the last year of his career I was jsut 9

He's nowhere near the best player of the past twenty-five years. Give me a break.

If he's not, than who is? Almost every great player in the last 25 years took roids.

Without a doubt, at 25 years of age, the best player of his generation is Ken Griffey Jr., followed by Tony Gwynn, Barry Larkin, Roger Clemens, and Barry Bonds w or w/o steroids in no particular order.

Not A Rod at age 25, Bigmac is 25 years old; which makes the best player of his generation someone who played from roughly 1988-present, hence Ken Griffey Jr.

I think at this point more people are just fed up with all the coverage Bonds gets from places like ESPN. Nobody really cares about Barry himself because we know he took steroids and is a dick and don't even want to think about it.
