WHA HAPPEN?

To kind of steal a phrase thrown around after Ronald Regan 1st administration.

"It is Mouring in Broncoland"

This morning I awake still weezing from the kick in the groin delivered yesterday by the Broncos Special Teams, and their disturbing display yesterday. A display that could kill whatever playoff hopes the Broncos had. I know some may say that it was Devin Hester who kicked the Broncos in nuts. I say no, he was too busy returning kicks. He may have stepped on us and our meager playoff hopes. Which ironicly was probably more then the Broncos got their hands on Hester.

Well, I have calmed down to some degree. I still have to avoid sharp objects and heights.

This was a game the Broncos should have won. It was over and they had stopped the Bears O, but they allowed Hester to get into their heads. So how bad was it?

Hester ran back two kick for 14 points, both came right after Denver scores which helped keep the Bears within hailing distance

A blocked punt leading to a short drive and another 7 points. A drive that gave a banged up and poorly executing (to that point) offense some confidence. Which was able to get into a flow after getting the ball back in the 4th and overtime.

Hey, I will tip my cap to the Bears. Hey they were lucky to win, but as the old saying that "luck is a matter of preperation meeting opportunity." The Bears were down it's underwhelming RB and the game should have been on the shoulders of Rex, but the Bears knew that if they had return opportunities they had to maximize them and they did. That and Denver's "Not So Special Teams" who I think may have been hopped up on goof balls helped keep the Bears playoff hopes alive, while unplugging the life support the Broncos were on.

There was some positives from this grease fire.

On Offense: Culter rebounded and showed that is growing into the role of being the Broncos QB. Travis Henry may, hopfully, be shown the door since the RB position maybe safe with Hall and Young. Brandon Marshall is ready to step up and be apart of the elite. I am not crowning him yet, but he is not too far away. Not only am I pleased with his catching ability, but I love his blocking. That is the Tony Scheffler saw when they drafted him.  Sadly they could not get another First down when the needed. That and the issues the had converting 3rd downs contributed to this loss.

Defense: Tim Crowder is showing that he is a 3 down player and he keeps making plays. Abdulla is showing that he maybe servicable in the safety spot. And Elivs is a mighty might of passing rushing goodness. Sadly the priase I have heaped is tranished by their inability to make a stop at the very end. Sure they were put there because the special teams soiled themselves.

Coaching: Pretty good for part of the game, but I think they may have been huffing gas in the second half which I am hoping explains the Irwin Allen performance at the end.

Well I am done rambling incoherently about this issue, I now will retreat to the space under my desk.

Before I go, I have to ask. I wonder if Dennis Green had a laugh at the end of this one, or if he thought about calling Shanahan?
