Smith Reed (Smith Wayne Reed) was born on June 25, 1942 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. After going to high school at Temple (Vicksburg, MS), Reed attended Alcorn State University. Reed made his professional debut in the NFL in 1965 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 2 year career.
