Born on September 15, 1881 in Clay Center, Kansas, Slow Joe Doyle (Judd Bruce Doyle) played for the New York Highlanders and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 5 year career. Doyle broke into the bigs on August 25, 1906 with the New York Highlanders, and put up a 2.65 ERA in 193.2 innings pitched in 1907, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Slow Joe Doyle's best season was 1907, when he posted a 2.65 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 94 batters.
