Slim Love
[edit] Biography
Born on August 1, 1890 in Love, Mississippi, Slim Love (Edward Haughton Love) played for the Washington Senators, New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 6 year career. Love broke into the bigs on September 8, 1913 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 2.35 ERA in 130.1 innings pitched in 1917, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Slim Love's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1918, when he posted a 3.07 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 95 batters. However, others believe that it was 1917, when he posted a 2.35 ERA and struck out 82 batters.
