Slash Statistics
In baseball, the so-called "Slash Stats" are traditionally represented as batting average/home runs/runs batted in. When the inadequacies of those basic stats were exposed by sabermetrics, slash stats later began being represented as batting average/on-base percentage/slugging percentage.
Similarly, the traditional slash stats in basketball are points per game/rebounds per game/assists per game. When APBRmetrics demonstrated the shortcomings of per-game stats, some analysts began using stats from Dean Oliver's Basketball on Paper in "slash" form: Offensive rating/%Poss/Defensive rating.
