Singing the Blue Grass Blues all the Way Home...

It has often been felt by athletes that a few times in their sports careers they are in a zone and can not be beat. This season started off that way for Kentucky's Andre' Woodson. The Senior came into this season as the QB of a team that have historically been thought of as losers...
Prior to this season Woodson had faced off with Brian Brohm 7 times, from high school through college. This would be the first time that Woodson would actually get the best of Brohm, as he led his Kentucky Wildcats to victory and for what is sure to be the most memorable beginning of a quagmire in the making at Louisville.
With Woodson and the Cats riding high on their 5-0 start to the season and number 8 ranking, they felt certain fo themselves as they went into South Carolina to face the Head Ball Coach. Little did they know, Cinderella's Magic was over and the clock had struck twelve.
It is my contention that every athlete, good and bad, will at times go through a stage where they seem invincible, in fact I think it is when this time occurs that truly determines their future. Talent and other aspects that we rate these players with for the NFL and other college football awards are so solidly subjective that no objective reasoning can be found. After the unlikely start for Kentucky everyone jumped on the Andre' Woodson bandwagon for SEC, Heisman and NFL supremacy...guess what HE IS NOT THAT GOOD! He has been the QB of teams that have consistently broken down, from high shcool through college..maybe he isn't the leader everyone says he is.
Does this come as a shocker to you? Don't let it...once the media hype machine begins we can not seem to control ourselves from declaring him as the next Donovan McNabb or Steve Young..."A QB with pocket prsence but the ability to scramble." Give me a break...I don't want my team to pick a QB who lost 7 of 8 games to Brian Brohm and can't beat South Carolina in a big game.
No Heisman, No O'Brien, No Maxwell for mister Woods on Run.
