Simmons Extended...

LT Kendall Simmons signed a 4-year contract extension over the weekend. Simmons got a boat load of money for a guy who was competing for his job this year. Word is the Steelers pursued Simmons once they realized signing Faneca was out of reach.
It's just my opinion but this is a bunch of BS. First, why do Steelers feel they have "no chance" with Faneca when everyone wants him to stay, even Faneca himself? Faneca said he's still holding out hope. Second, if we've seen anything out of the preseason, besides our crappy special teams, we've seen a weak O-line. We all know that you can't run or throw the ball if you don't have good protection. Faneca gives you the best. Finally, if there are any questions about Faneca's durability, I will slap the Rooney's myself. In 9 years Faneca has played all but 2 games. 2 freakin' games! He's made 6 straight Pro Bowls. This is more than any LG in the league. And he's only 30. The man is a workhorse. If the Steelers conclude that they can't or won't extend him that's our own damn fault. It's like shooting yourself in the foot. It might not kill ya', but you'll have a hell of a time trying to walk.
Wherever he ends up, I hope he gets paid because the man deserves it.
