Silver Flint (Frank Sylvester Flint) was born on August 3, 1855 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on May 4, 1875 for the St. Louis Red Stockings. In 1878, his rookie year, he hit .224 with 0 home runs and 18 RBI. Flint played for the St. Louis Red Stockings, Indianapolis Blues and Chicago White Stockings over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Silver Flint's best season was 1879, when he hit for a .284 average.
