Silent But Not Deadly...

SI.com reported the story correctly. Big names Brett Farve and Big Ben were mute on Saturday. Both quarterbacks had poor showings while putting up weak numbers. I was kind of surprised to see Farve go 2 for 7. But this man has nothing to prove. Big Ben on the other hand, does have some convincing to do. People of Pittsburgh are sure he's our guy, but sports media has been highly critical of him.

Ben completed both of his passing attempts but fumbled the ball while being sacked during his first series. After looking so good last week, what happened, if anything at all? Ben stated that they didn't have time to get into a rhythm. I don't know about his. You don't need rhythm to hold onto to the ball. Turnovers killed us last year. I hope the same pattern doesn't continue this year. The O-line gave up 5 sacks while playing without Faneca. I've always contended that the most important aspect of a football team is the quality of the O-line. If they don't play well you can't run or throw; odds are you'll end up turning the ball over.

There is absoulutely zero correlation between playing "well" in the preseason and playing well when it counts...no need to worry...iron out kinks, let rookies play, let players adjust...

Ain't that the truth. The best thing you can hope for from the pre-season is no serious injuries.

Yeah...avoiding injuries is the most important part of pre-season... It always amazed me how many athletes come into camp not in the best shape...its one thing to rehab from an injury...its another you just get fat...you're a professional athlete for christ's sake...and you can spend a little time at the gym during your off months? Its your god damn job...

Hm I guess Brett Favre was hurt in preseason action, so they had to go to his understudy Brett Farve.

In my opinion, The Defensive Line is the strongest aspect of this year's Packers. They looked really good last season after Jenkins moved to end.

Rhythm is something that every team loses in the offseason. Training camp and the preseason are designed to get it back. I wouldn't be too worried.
