Rules are simple...every Wed. I'll throw out the week's NFL picks and a few choice college games. Whomever wins at the end of the year gets bragging rights...the loser gets ignominious failure and ridicule.
Without further adieu...
- Denver v KC...Denver
- Carolina at Minnesota...Panthers
- Buffalo at Miami...Dolphins
- Giants at Philly...Eagles
- Saints at Packers...Saints
- Texans at Indy...duh, Colts, big
- Lions at Bears...Bears
- Browns at Cincy...Bengals in a big way
- Tampa at Atlanta...could be the game o' the week, I'll go Atlanta
- Raiders at Baltimore...Ravens by three TDs
- Arizona at Seattle...hmmmmm, I'm picking the Cards in an upset
- Rams at 49ers...the Lambs D looks tough, Rams
- Titans at San Diego...the Titans get swallowed by the Whale's Vagina (you Ron Burgandy fans should be chuckling)
- Pats at Jets...Pats
- Redskins at Dallas...Cowboys
- Steelers at Jacksonville...Jags in a squeaker
College
- Michigan at Notre Dame...the Irish
- LSU at Auburn...the Tigers, yeah I know, let's go Auburn in razor thin fasion
- Miami Fla. at Louisville...I think Louisville pulls this one off
- Oklahoma at Oregon...the Ducks, just because the Ducks is a cooler mascot than a horse-crawn wagon
- Texas Tech at TCU...when was the last time the Horned Frogs were ranked? Go Frogs!
- Arizona St. at my pathetic Buffaloes...this will get ugly in a hurry, Arizona St. by 40+
- Nebraska at So. Cal...the Trojans look loaded again, the men of Troy prevail
- Florida at Tennessee...can Florida derail a team that spanked a good Cal squad, ummmmm, no, Vols win
All those interested just edit accordingly. I'll talley the weekley results and post everyone's record. Good luck!
David J. Cohen's picks. Was going to start up a thread until I saw this. Didn't post anything last week because of college exams. I have picked every game in the NFL for 7 years. Last week I was 10-6. Last week was very wacky, with 5 home teams winning. This week things should return to form.
Buffalo @ Miami - Dolphins rebound.
Carolina @ Minnesota - Panthers show up this week.
Clevelad @ Cincinnati - Bengals win, but don't cover.
Detroit @ Chicago - Lions pull off the upset. Bears offense could only score 1 TD against the worst defense in the league, and that was because of miscommunication in the Packers secondary. Marinelli is a Kiffin disciple, and he may have awoken the potential in the Lions defense. They've always had talent. Kitna was rusty in his first full action in a long time. It won't be pretty, but a win is a win.
Houston @ Indianapolis - Colts in a rout.
New Orleans @ Green Bay - Saints have more offensive weapons.
New York Giants @ Philadelphia - Giants squeak by in the game of the week. They should've beaten the Colts, but dropped 3 INT's. Eagles won't be able to exploit Giants secondary. They also haven't shown much of a commitment to running the ball.
Oakland @ Baltimore - Ravens. McNair put on a clinic last week.
Tampa Bay @ Atlanta - Bucs rebound. Now that Vick has returned to his former self, the Bucs have the blueprint on how to stop him. They've won 7 of the last 10 meetings for a reason. My upset pick of the week (had Minnesota last week).
Arizona @ Seattle - Seahawks win because they play defense. They will cover the spread (-7).
St. Louis @ San Francisco - Rams have the better players on offense. The defenses are about even.
Kansas City @ Denver - Broncos have been notorious in recent years for starting out slow in the opening week. Remember their 38-0 loss last year to Miami. They will return to last year's form in this game.
New England @ New York Jets - Pats get it done.
Tennessee @ San Diego - Chargers BARELY win. Rivers will be tested this week. If Collins had been a Titan for more than 3 weeks I would probably have taken Tennessee.
Washington @ Dallas - Cowboys win. The absence of 'Skins CB Shaun Springs will cripple thier secondary as Terry Glenn burns Mike Rumph constantly. TO won't do so bad either.
Pittsburgh @ Jacksonville - Batch or Roethlisberger, the Steelers win.
