Sherrill Headrick (Sherrill Darlon Headrick) was born on March 13, 1937 in Waco, Texas. After going to high school at North Side (Fort Worth, TX), Headrick attended Texas Christian University. Headrick made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the Dallas Texans. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Texans and Cincinnati Bengals over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that 1961 was Sherrill Headrick's best year, as he ran back 2 interceptions for touchdowns.
