Sherman Obando (Sherman Omar (Gainor) Obando) was born on January 23, 1970 in Bocas del Toro, Panama. He made his Major League debut on April 10, 1993 for the Baltimore Orioles. In 1996, his rookie year, he hit .247 with 8 home runs and 22 RBI. Obando played for the Baltimore Orioles and Montreal Expos over the course of his 4 year career.
