Sheldon Canley (Sheldon Lavell Canley) was born on April 19, 1968 in Santa Barbara, California. After going to high school at Lompoc (CA), Canley attended Allen Hancock College and San Jose State University. Canley made his professional debut in the NFL in 1992 with the New York Jets. He played for the New York Jets for his entire 1 year career.
