Born on August 21, 1964 in Dos Palos, California, Shawn Hillegas (Shawn Patrick Hillegas) played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees over the course of his 7 year career. Hillegas broke into the bigs on August 9, 1987 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and put up a 3.57 ERA in 58 innings pitched in 1987, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Shawn Hillegas's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1989, when he posted a 4.74 ERA and struck out 76 batters. However, others believe that it was 1991, when he posted a 4.34 ERA and struck out 66 batters.
