Shawn Gilbert (Albert Shawn Gilbert) was born on March 12, 1965 in Camden, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on June 2, 1997 for the New York Mets. Gilbert played for the New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 3 year career.
