Duke roared out to the lead in an exhibition game against Shaw University and never looked back. Ten of Duke's eleven players scored in double digits, led by freshman Kyle Singler's 23 points. Duke shot only 8 of 28 from the three point line, but 21 offensive rebounds and a blistering 41-58 (71%) shooting inside the arc paved the way for the blowout.

Shaw was led by Jonathan Mudd and Camontae Griffin, both with 11 points. Shaw University is coached by former Duke star Robert Brickey.
