Reggina Calcio has now been added to the list of accused clubs in the Serie A match-fixing scandal, as had been hinted before by FIGC prosecutor Stefano Palazzi. They allegedly violated articles one and six of the sporting rules during the 2004-05 season. The probe is based on six matches that season, those against Brescia (1-3 loss), Cagliari (3-2 win), Palermo (1-0 win), Udinese (2-0 win), Sampdoria (3-2 loss), and Palermo again (1-1 draw). The specific individuals indicted are president Lillo Foti, former referee designator Paolo Bergamo, and referees Pieri and Dondarini. The possible relegation of Reggina would set U.S. Lecce back in the top flight despite their position in the league last year.
