- Rudy Seanez made his debut for the Cleveland Indians. He pitched 2 perfect innings, striking out 3 in a 12-4 loss against the Toronto Blue Jays.

- Mark Whiten went 4-5 with 4 HR and 12 RBI for the St. Louis Cardinals in a 15-3 victory over the Cincinati Reds. He hit a 1st inning grand slam, a 3-run shot in the 6th, a 3-run shot in the 7th, and a 2-run shot in the 9th.
