  • For the second time in his career, Boston Red Sox ace Roger Clemens strikes out 20 batters in a game. This time, his victims are the hapless players of the Detroit Tigers.

  • Carlton Fisk made his MLB debut for the Boston Red Sox. He hit 8th, started at catcher, and went 0-4 in a 6-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles

  • Don Baylor makes his Major League debut for the Baltimore Orioles against the Cleveland Indians. He recorded two hits and 3 RBI.
