Send in the Clown: The Jose Canseco Story Continues

This just in, Jose Canseco is still desperate for attention.
The former American League MVP made his debut as a starting pitcher last night for the Long Beach Armada (something tells me that link will be red). Canseco, who is apparently a knuckleballer, walked five batters and hit four in an 8-2 loss to the Reno Silver Fox (probably also red). He also gave up a home run.
The poster boy for steroids had this to say, "Overall, it felt pretty good. It took me a little while to get a rhythm out there, and I walked too many guys. It should get better."
Something tells me, "it felt pretty good," refers to the fact that he was on center stage and knew he would be all over the sports news world in the morning.
That's the thing about a sideshow performer. They'll do whatever it takes -- in Canseco's case, flat out embarassing himself -- just to be able to perform.
If anyone ever needed proof that sports are played for the entertainment of the audience, Canseco is the man to prove it.
Canseco has become one of the few sports entertainers to have the versitility to play both the hero and the slap-sticking clown (that even throws knuckleballs).
