Seattle Sonics draft Saer Sene of Senegal - Makes No Sense!

Apparently the Seattle Sonics don't even want Sene to play for them next year. Instead, he'll continue with his foreign team and continue to develop. All the Sonics need is another 7-ft project center with awkward looks. It's especially puzzling when the team has its most glaring need at guard. If only Brandon Roy had lasted to number ten.
This team is in dire financial straits that have pasted all over the local front pages, it's alienated fans thanks to simaltaneous demands for a new arena, and last year was an unabated disaster on the court. At least they seemed to play together by the end of the year. Maybe that's the psychology. There's no use adding a player of any consequence because it might mess up the team's delicate chemistry.
It seems that the entire NBA draft was farcical. Because I'm in Hawaii and I didn't feel like sitting in front of the TV at 1:30, I missed the entire draft, except for a few updates in the middle of the lottery. I checked before bed to find that Randy Foye (who had the most hilarious interview of all time in an April edition of SI Players) had been traded twice, David Stern had snapped back at ESPN announcers, and that Isiah Thomas had drafted Renaldo Balkman.
Can we take this sport seriously anymore? Or better, have they stumbled on the secret formula for success? First they fix the Finals, now they forget to air the draft on Comedy Central.
