Sean Bennett (William Sean Bennett) was born on November 9, 1975 in Evansville, Indiana. After going to high school at Harrison (Evansville, IN), Bennett attended Northwestern University, the University of Evansville and the University of Illinois. Bennett made his professional debut in the NFL in 1999 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 2 year career.

Acquired

Selected by Toronto in the fifth round (35th overall) in the 2006 CFL Dispersal Draft.

2005

Dressed in five games with the Renegades…caught four passes for 76 yards, and had one carry for 12 yards.

2004

Signed with Ottawa as a free agent March 3, 2004…Spent the majority of the season on the practice roster, after joining the team on July 27...Saw action in three games...Week 17, experienced best CFL performance hauling in four passes for 74 yards, including a 42-yard bomb for a touchdown.

2002

Re-signed with the New York Giants (NFL) on January 15…Played in seven games and was converted into a receiver late in the year…Recorded five catches for 37 yards.

2001

Did not play football due to hamstring injury…Placed on the unable to perform list on August 27.

2000

Sat out entire season with knee injury.

1999

Finished year with 28 carries for 122 yards and one touchdown for the New York Giants…Became the first Giants rookie to start the season-opener at Running Back since Tiki Barber (1997)…Suffered late-season knee injured and required surgery, ending his season.

College

1998 Played RB, WR and KR at the Northwestern University…Generated 32 carries for 160 yards and one touchdown, 17 catches for 228 yards and 11 kickoffs for 220 yards in 12 games…1996-1997 Played two years at University of Evansville…Gained 2,856 yards on 465 carries and 25 touchdowns…Named first-team All-American in both seasons…Set seven school records including yards rushing, single-season yards, single-season touchdowns and career scoring.
