Born on February 26, 1967 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Scott Service (Scott David Service) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies, Cincinnati Reds, San Francisco Giants, Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of his 12 year career. Service broke into the bigs on September 5, 1988 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.48 ERA in 82.2 innings pitched in 1998, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Scott Service's best season was 1998, when he posted a 3.48 ERA and struck out 95 batters.
