Born on January 24, 1984 in Houston, Texas, Scott Kazmir (Scott Edward Kazmir) played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for his entire 4 year career. Kazmir broke into the bigs on August 23, 2004 with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and put up a 3.77 ERA in 186 innings pitched in 2005, his rookie year.

- Selected by the New York Mets in the 1st round (15th pick overall) of the free-agent draft (June 4, 2002 - signed August 2, 2002).
- Traded by the New York Mets with Jose Diaz to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in exchange for Bartolome Fortunato and Victor Zambrano (July 30, 2004).

At Cypress Falls High School (Texas), Kazmir threw four no-hitters in a row. In the fifth time out, he gave up a single hit with only one out left to go in the game. He threw two more no hitters after giving up that one hit. That is a total of one hit in seven games!
