Born on July 31, 1963 in Raleigh, North Carolina, Scott Bankhead (Michael Scott Bankhead) played for the Kansas City Royals, Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees over the course of his 10 year career. Bankhead broke into the bigs on May 25, 1986 with the Kansas City Royals, and put up a 4.61 ERA in 121 innings pitched in 1986, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Scott Bankhead's best season was 1989, when he posted a 3.34 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 140 batters.
