Savage likes what Crennel has done

There was a video that I saw on NFL.com, it was a press conference in which the Cleveland Browns GM Phil Savage talked about the Browns depth at QB, and he also discussed Head Coach Romeo Crennel. Savage said that he likes what Crennel has done going into his third season as the Browns Head Coach, and you have to disagree and agree with him at the same time. First off, I disagree, because in his first two seasons he has a record of 10-22. But, on the other hand, it's the Cleveland Browns, he has no defense (although they have improved), and he has three mediocre QB's (Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson, and Brady Quinn), and before this offseason, the Browns organization didn't have a true number 1 RB.
But, then again, they hired Crennel to improve the team, and in the few years before Crennel came, they were about the same. In 2004 (the year before they hired Crennel), the browns went 4-12 (last in AFC North), and in '03 were 5-11 (last place in AFC North). The Borwns have been the last place team in the AFC North since 2003, which is four straight seasons. In those four seasons, the Browns record has been 19-45 (.422 win percentage), they hadn't even won half their games. So, Crennel hasn't done his job, yet. But, yet Savage still believes that he is the right guy, and that nobody is on the hot seat. If noone is on the hot seat, then someone surely will be if the Browns don't break 8-8, some are expecting them to, while others aren't. I believe that Savage, the Browns organization, and all the Browns fans are the only ones who think they are going to break .500.
Savage did have doubts about their QB position, or so it appeared. He kept using the word "unrealistic" when referring to Rookie QB Brady Quinn pulling off a Kamerion Wimbley (Cle Rookie LB last year). After I saw that press conference, it made me believe that they are going to start Frye this year, just because of the Quinn holdout, and lack of experince. And I agree with that, you can't reward a guy for missing most of training camp, and aprt of the preseason. Especially if it may not even help them win more games, if anything, it will probably hurt them more than help.
The Browns are improving, especially after adding RB Jamal Lewis, a power back, and drafting Brady Quinn who will eventually help the Browns, as well as strengthening their O-Line. The Browns may need several more years to be back to a playoff team. But, the Browns are closer along then the Raiders, who haven't even signed their number 1 draft pick yet. Frye should be their opening day starter, and by midseason if they have a losing record, they should bench him, and go with the rookie Brady Quinn.
How the Browns have done with Crennel as HC:
2006
4-12 (.250) | 4th in AFC North
2005
6-10 (.250) | 4th in AFC North
