Oregon will once again win another big home game and move closer towad a BCS bowl appearance.

(4) Oregon v. (6) Arizona State

Before ESPN decided to view this "Pac Ten Championship Game," almost the entire country was going to be unable watch it. Much thanks to ESPN because now, viewers nationwide will be in for a treat as two of the nation's top teams are coming off huge wins and will square off in Eugene. While there is plenty reason for excitement, Sun Devil fans may want to be a little nervous for this one. For one, Arizona State quarterback Rudy Carpenter is questionable with a thumb injury (ask John David Booty about thumb injuries). Carpenter has been the leader of the Arizona State offense and if he is unable to play at his usual high level than the Sun Devils won't be able to mount their usual come from behind victory. Also, the game is being played in Autzen Stadium which is a major disadvantage for the Devils, as they have played in just two road games this year. The big game atmosphere will be too much for the Sun Devils. Oregon 34-21

(1) Ohio State v. Wisconsin

Will there be a letdown in Columbus after the Buckeyes' impressive thrashing of Penn State? Sorry Michigan fans but no. I like the Buckeyes in this one, as they have been consistent this entire season, especially on defense. That stifling defense for Ohio State is first in the nation, giving up just 214 yards of total defense and eight points a game. Wisconsin has proven to be a fraud and the Buckeyes should win fairly easily in this win. Ohio State 24-3

(13) USC v. Oregon State

This is will be much closer game than the 15-point spread indicates due to Oregon State's stifling run defense and their running game spear headed by Yvenson Bernard. The Beavers are a team that likes to play conservatively and run the ball on offense, especially with an inexperienced quarterback. This will make this a lower scoring game than would be typical for a Pac Ten showdown. In the end, USC is a better team and I do not see them losing another conference game. USC 27-10

(3) LSU v. (17) Alabama

I really want to pick Alabama here especially since LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey is questionable and the game is being played away from Tiger Stadium. While LSU has been shaky away from Baton Rouge, Alabama has been inconsistent in any stadium this season. The Crimson Tide has had big victories over Tennessee and Georgia, but they have also had horrible losses, Florida State. While their offense is capable of scoring points with John Parker Wilson at the helm, their defense has been shaky at best. Both Georgia (153 yards) and Arkansas (301 yards) proved that any team can run the ball effectively against the soft Bama front seven. LSU should be able to follow suit as they hold the nation's 18th best rushing offense. Nick Saban should keep the Tide in this one but eventually, LSU should pull away. LSU 31-17

Notre Dame v. Navy

It would seem that with all of Notre Dame;s struggles that this would be the year for Navy to finally break their forty game losing streak to the Irish. However, the Midshipmen are in a bit of a down year themselves, as they gave up 59 points to Delaware in a loss. Navy's defense allows well over 300 yards a game and it would seem as the struggling Irish offense might be able to enjoy some success for once this season. Notre Dame 31-14

(2) Boston College v. Florida State

The Seminoles are a team in shambles, while the Eagles seem destined to play in the national title game after their 14-10 road victory against Virginia Tech. With Matt Ryan at the helm, and Florida State struggling to win road games, there is no reason to pick against Boston College. Boston College. Boston College 34-10

(21) Wake Forest v. Virginia

Virginia is one of those teams that seems to play really well against "softies" but struggles in the big games. On other hand, Wake Forest is a team that seems to play well despite the critics. After two losses to start off the year, the Demon Deacons have gone on to win six straight games. Their quarterback Riley Skinner has been healthy throughout the streak and remains one an efficient quarterback who also happens to be 15-4 as a starter. Wake Forest 28-18

Upset Special

(16) Connecticut v. Rutgers After two consecutive weeks of failing to pick Kansas to lose as my upset special, I have looked East to regain some success in these weekly upset specials. Rutgers is a team that seems to love playing the underdog as they upset Louisville last year and USF three weeks ago. UConn does not seem to be a major powerhouse, but the Huskies have managed to win seven games while sitting atop the Big East conference. They do have a great defense but Rutgers matches up extremely well with them. The Knights feature a power running game with Ray Rice (pictured) that can win a game in the trenches. While I like the direction of the Huskies program, Rutgers has better athletes on offense and should be able to score some points. In the end Rutgers pulls out a close victory. Rutgers 24-17

Last Week: 3-5

This Year: 36-19

Here's a wrench in the gears for the BC/Florida State game. There's a facking hurricane up here in Massachusetts. Well, not a hurricane, but what's left of one. There's a high wind warning in effect until 11 PM. There could be sustained winds of up to 40 MPH with gusts up to 60 MPH. According to weather.com, it will be 43 degrees at kickoff, with a 24 MPH wind and a 100% chance of precipitation. This will affect the game, if the game is even played.

Wow, just learned of that this morning. If the is horrible than maybe FSU does have a real shot at an upset.
