Born on August 31, 1898 in McGregor, Texas, Sarge Connally (George Walter Connally) played for the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 12 year career. Connally broke into the bigs on September 10, 1921 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 4.05 ERA in 160 innings pitched in 1924, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Sarge Connally's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1927, when he posted a 4.08 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 58 batters. However, others believe that it was 1926, when he posted a 3.16 ERA.
