- Debuted at Texas. At the time her start, Fisher was the youngest driver to start an IndyCar race (19 years old).

- Became first female to start full season of IndyCar with Walker Racing
- Finished third at Kentucky and led nine laps, the youngest to lead laps
- Raced in first Indianapolis 500 with two female drivers, joining Lyn St. James in the field
- Finished 18th in points

- Finished second at Homestead, a career high and highest finish by a female driver in the series
- Finished 19th in points

- Won pole at Kentucky, becoming the first woman to start on pole in a major racing series
- Finished 18th in points

- Finished fifth in points despite major deficiencies in the Chevrolet engine his team used.
- Won at Kentucky, Chicagoland, and California.

- Returned to IndyCar after a two year absence (except for a one-off ride at the 2004 Indy 500), subbing at Kentucky and Chicagoland.

- Had full season ride for first time since 2003
- Until Michigan, one of three drivers to finish every race (Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon). All three had their first DNF there.
