Sammy Vick (Samuel Bruce Vick) was born on April 12, 1895 in Batesville, Mississippi. He made his Major League debut on September 20, 1917 for the New York Yankees. In 1919, his rookie year, he hit .248 with 2 home runs and 27 RBI. Vick played for the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 5 year career.
