Sammy Holbrook (James Marbury Holbrook) was born on July 17, 1910 in Meridian, Mississippi. He made his Major League debut on April 25, 1935 for the Washington Senators. In 1935, his rookie year, he hit .259 with 2 home runs and 25 RBI. Holbrook played for the Washington Senators for his entire 1 year career.
