Sam Washington (Samuel Lee Washington) was born on March 7, 1960 in Tampa, Florida. After going to high school at Tampa Bay Tech (Tampa, FL), Washington attended Mississippi Valley State. Washington made his professional debut in the NFL in 1982 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1984 was Sam Washington's best year, as he picked off 6 passes and ran back 2 interceptions for touchdowns.
