Born on October 19, 1915 in New York, New York, Sam Nahem (Samuel Ralph Nahem) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 4 year career. Nahem broke into the bigs on October 2, 1938 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and put up a 2.98 ERA in 81.2 innings pitched in 1941, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Sam Nahem's best season was 1941, when he posted a 2.98 ERA.
