Sam Langford (Elton Langford) was born on May 21, 1901 in Briggs, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 13, 1926 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1928, his rookie year, he hit .276 with 4 home runs and 50 RBI. Langford played for the Cleveland Indians for his entire 2 year career.
