Sam LaRocque (Simeon Henry Jean LaRocque) was born on February 26, 1863 in St. Mathias, Quebec (Canada). He made his Major League debut on July 30, 1888 for the Detroit Wolverines. In 1890, his rookie year, he hit .242 with 1 home run and 40 RBI. LaRocque played for the Detroit Wolverines, Pittsburgh Pirates and Louisville Colonels over the course of his 3 year career.
