Sam Knox (Frank Samuel Knox) was born on March 29, 1910 in Concord, New Hampshire. After going to high school at Clark (Hanover, NH), Concord (NH) and Exeter Academy, Knox attended the University of Illinois and the University of New Hampshire. Knox made his professional debut in the NFL in 1934 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 3 year career.
