Born on October 29, 1852 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sam Kimber (Samuel Jackson Kimber) played for the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers and Providence Grays over the course of his 2 year career. Kimber broke into the bigs on May 1, 1884 with the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers, and put up a 3.81 ERA in 361.1 innings pitched in 1884, his rookie year.
