Sam Holden (Samuel Lee Holden, Jr.) was born on February 24, 1957 in Magnolia, Mississippi. After going to high school at St. Augustine (New Orleans, LA), Holden attended Grambling State University and Southern Illinois University. Holden made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the New Orleans Saints. He played for the New Orleans Saints for his entire 1 year career.
