Born on December 23, 1882 in Baltimore, Maryland, Sam Frock (Samuel William Frock) played for the Boston Doves, Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Rustlers over the course of his 4 year career. Frock broke into the bigs on September 21, 1907 with the Boston Doves, and put up a 3.22 ERA in 257.1 innings pitched in 1910, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Sam Frock's best season was 1910, when he posted a 3.22 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 171 batters.
