Sam Etcheverry (Samuel Etcheverry) was born on May 20, 1930 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. After going to high school at (Albuquerque, NM), Etcheverry attended the University of Denver. Etcheverry made his professional debut in the NFL in 1961 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 2 year career.
Most people believe that 1961 was Sam Etcheverry's best year, as he tossed 14 TDs.
