Sam Adams (Sam Edward Adams) was born on September 20, 1948 in Jasper, Texas. After going to high school at Jasper (TX), Adams attended Prairie View A&M University. Adams made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the New England Patriots. He played for the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 10 year career.
