Sam Bartholomew (Samuel Wilson Bartholomew) was born on April 10, 1917 in Charleston, West Virginia. After going to high school at Greenbrier (Hillsboro, WV), Bartholomew attended the University of Tennessee. Bartholomew made his professional debut in the NFL in 1941 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for his entire 1 year career.
