So the San Francisco Giants have potential and money to be able to make some big off-season moves for the first time in a long time with the exception of Barry Zito last year. Giants general manager Brian Sabean has said he looks to make some big moves to help bump the Giants back into the Division hunt. You see the Giants need to fill some pretty big holes. They need to fill the third base and left field positions. To me, the Giants not only need just fill the position, but when they fill it they need to bring some bat power in those line-up spots. This is mere speculation, but there is a chance that names like Miguel Tejada and Chris Duncan could be fairy to alcatrez island next summer. The Giants one strength I think is their rotation, tht is if Zito can return to all-star form or at least to just decent pitcher form. They have two rising stars in Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain. So back to Tejada and Duncan...These are the possible trades that were introduced on rotoworld
To the Baltimore Orioles: LHP Jonathan Sanchez & RHP Brad Hennessey & SS Many Burriss FOR SS Miguel Tejada (This trade would really benefit both teams. Tejada has already stated that he would be willing to play third base for a contender and although the Giants played so horribly last season, with their up and coming talent and the addition of Tejada this team could make a 180 turn and become a contender in the not so tuff west)
To the St. Louis Cardinals: LHP Noah Lowry FOR OF Chris Duncan & RHP Mitchell Boggs (This trade would benifet both teams again, although daddy Duncan woul dbe heart broken this could really help his pitching staff. Lowry is a great young pitcher an dchris duncan feel sthe big hole in left field and really helps the Giants in the power department)
So basically these two deals could really help the Giants make a playoff push although giving up three young promising pitcher. The giants would still have a pretty big three in the top of the rotation and help bring some offense to a line-up desperately needing it. Now although these trades may never really unfold or really get discussed in depth it would be nice to see the Giants really explore the market without having to give up main pieces like Cain, Lincecum, and Davis.
