SF Giants: Answer to Keeping Lincecum and Still Improving Offense? Kosuke Fukudome

The San Francisco Giants really have two main goals here in the off-season; Improve very weak offense and retain Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain. The Giants already lasted through winter meetings without having to give up Lincecum or Cain, although they got a great offer from the Toronto Blue Jays for outfielder Alexis Rios (Which is still on the table). So the Giants want to improve that offense without having to trade away their star pitchers, but the problem is there isn't much talent on the free agent list and trade opportunities are dwindling. With all this the Giants still do have a chance at offense, rember that guy Barry Bonds? The guy that was their OFFENSE and took up a lot of payroll, well he is gone which makes room for spending money on a Japanese Phenom. The 30 year old outfielder Kosuke Fukodome is the answer to the Giants needs. Though many people say the San Diego Padres and Chicago Cubs are frontrunners, the Cubs seemingly are willing to dish out as much money as possible, the Giants seem to be a dark horse in the race. Expect them to wait out the above teams to lay out offers and te Giants come out and suprise everyone, but if the Cubs do decide to dish out a ton of money look for the Giants to back out. Fukodome batted .351 last year with 31 HRs and 104 RBIs in 130 games. The Giants really need to consider going after Fukudome, he has the bat to vastly improve the Giants line-up. He is a great boost inthe clean-up spot over Benjie Molina. I have a feeling the Giants will eally go after Fukudome, especially since GM Brian Sabean has really wanted to get a big bat this winter without giving up Lincecum and Cain and this is the perfect chance.

That's a mighty small jockstrap for Fukodome to potentially strap on....

I could coutner this, but due to the fact that I don't want to disrepect some people, I will just shake my head in dissagreement...why? Bonds is innocent!

When you say "improve the offense," do you mean improve upon last year, or improve upon what it currently looks like? Obviously adding Fukodome will improve the offense over the current batch of players, but how will losing Bonds and adding Fukodome be a net positive? Fukodome will never be the player Bonds was last year.
