SEC Playoffs Continue Another Week

I can not remeber the last time that the race to the SEC Title game has been so tight. In past years, the cream started rising to the top at this juncture of the season. Every game from here on out is significant. It's "Do or Die" time, "Take control of your our destiny". Insert your own cliche', I'm sure it will fit nicely when talking about the SEC. Some say the SEC has lost some luster due to the records of the teams. I say, "hogwash", I believe the majority of the SEC teams are that good. One penalty here/there, one mistake or turnover here/there and a team can go from pretender to contender in one game, one play. Just ask Spurrier, he lost for the first time in his coaching career to the Commodores this weekend. Auburn loses in a thriller to LSU. Had receiver Byrd dropped the last second touchdown pass, the SEC West would be just as confusing as the SEC East. Florida wins a shootout with Kentucky. Heisman candidates Tebow and Woodson gave a national audience their best performance, NO interceptions, and lots of heroics. Alabama embarasses Tennessee. Is this the last year Fulmer will be at UT?
Excluding Vandy, who has 3 SEC loses; the SEC East has everyone knotted up with 2 losses. This coming week has Florida vs Georgia, South Caroina vs Tennessee, and Kentucky vs Miss St. With the exception of Miss St, you can make an agrument that any of those teams can win their game. In the SEC West, barring a totally and complete meltdown, LSU has all but made reservations for Atlanta.
Parity is such a negative word in sports in some circumstances. I think of as "competitiveness". After all "it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog". That's why games are played on the field and not on paper.
